Advanced Proposal Engineer/Senior Lead Proposal Engineer

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

The successful candidates will be a self motivated individual capable of leading proposal efforts for Combustion Turbine Control Retrofit project inquires. Responsibilities will require a technical knowledge of combustion turbine governor and subsystems for OEM fleets including Westinghouse and General Electric frames. Experience with Emerson Ovation, Emerson WDPF, Siemens TXP, Siemens T3000, GE Mark IV, and/or GE Mark V turbine control system technologies is desirable. Candidates shall possess effective verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with internal and external customers.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Receive customer inquiries and interpret customer specifications for technical proposals.
  • Coordinate site walk downs to review and develop offer scope documents for technical proposals when customer specifications are not provided.
  • Produce scoping documents for EPC installation contractor bidding.
  • Apply expert process and product knoledge when preparing technical proposals.
  • Develop "Best Cost" solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Interface with field service, projects, engineering, commercial integration and finanace.
  • Work effectively with sales, engineering, and project personnel.
  • Prepare final offer documentation and transmit to customer.
  • Conduct negotiation with customer utilizing thorough knowledge of customer application requirements and organization, capabilities, of competition, and following strategy and tactics developed with assistance of engineering management.
  • Review Purchase Order and determind that is accurately reflects the offer.
  • Work with customer, projects, and contract negotiator to resolve any issues including scope and delivery date prior to submitting Order Entry Form.
  • Identify and implement proposal process and improvements within the department.
  • Support development of less senior engineers of the group.
  • Promote a positive work environment.

The position requires a BS degree in an engineering discipline such as EE, ME, or the equivalent with a minimum of 7-10 years experience in marketing and/or engineering with emphasiss in combustion turbine control systems and/ or process operation.

Position requires 25-35% travel.

Systems Upgrade Account Specialist

Location: Berkeley Heights, New Jersey

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop a Territory Business Plan that incorporates PWS's market segmentation strategies and targeted key accounts.
  • Renew all existing maintenance contracts.
  • Develop a life cycle program for each account in your territory.
  • Promote Smart Process and simulation products and their value-added capability.
  • Identify and develop Evergreen programs for all Ovation installed base accounts.
  • Develop and manage the execution of Sales Pursuit Plans as required.
  • Participate in the development of strategic account plans in conjunction with system sales as required.
  • Maintain a current and accurate survey which depicts highway revision levels; MMI's, processors, etc. and customer contact information for each WDPF and Ovation system identified in the SMS System.
  • Support management's business plans to identify and penetrate key accounts.
  • Become familiar with Ovation and Plan Web (including Fieldbus) technology, pricing strategies and customer benefits in PWS's identified market segments.
  • Promote new Emerson technologies, such as wireless instrumentation, as applicable.
  • Promote Emerson AOD's CSI 4500 and 6000 products for WDPGF/Ovation STG and CT installed base.

Position requires a BA, BSEE, ME, CH.E, Computer Science or the equivalent and a minimum of 6 years experience in process control/application engineering, field service, marketing, or sales.

Position requires 75% travel.

Supervising Engineer/Senior Lead Engineer

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

The successful candidates will be leading members of the Combustion Turbine Controls Retrofit Project Group with responsibilities covering project management and control system retrofit design and implementation functions. Responsibilities will include providing technical leadership for control design standards development and testing of turbine retrofit control systems. Duties will require extensive control system design experience involving Siemens/Westinghouse and General Electric combustion turbine fleets. A comprehensive knowledge of Siemens TXP, Siemens T3000, GE Mark IV, and/or GE Mark V turbine control system technologies is required. Candidates shall possess effective communication and project management skills for interfacing with internal and external customers.

Other primary responsibilities include:

  • Technical support of proposal development.
  • Multiple project coordination and scheduling.
  • Provide technical direction and engineering support.
  • Instruct, train, and guide personnel.
  • Develop project and process improvements.
  • Monitor project financial performance.
  • Implement programs to achieve engineering productivity targets.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 15-20 years of directly related experience with WDPF, Siemens TXP, Siemens T3000, GE Mark I, Mark IV, and/or Mark V turbine controls. Extensive experience with combustion turbine control philosophies and DLN fuel system operation is required. Ability to relocate to Pittsburgh is highly desirable.

Position requires 15-20% travel.
